KATJA MORRISON
Welcome and thank you very much for browsing my website!
Here is a little bit about my life and art projects:
I was brought up in idyllic Southern Germany close to Lake Constance and the Black Forest. Art has always been a crucial part in my life. Surrounded by medieval and Baroque art and architecture as well as having a family background of artists, church painters, musicians and woodcarvers, I have developed a strong understanding of style, composition and iconography in art. I am a self-taught artist and have also achieved a Magister Artium degree in Art History, Medieval History and Archaeology at the Ludwig-Maximilian-University of Munich. I draw my inspiration from old masterpieces and transform those ideas into my very own unique and distinctive creations.
In 2002 my Scottish husband and I moved to Napier in New Zealand. Probably because of the good vibes and the sense of freedom of Aotearoa I could finally allow my talents to flow freely.
My greatest achievements are:
2006 Hospice Holly Trail Ngatarawa Winery, New Zealand
2008 Hospice Holly Trail Woodford House School Havelock-North, New Zealand
2013-2015 GEWANDHAUS Museum Inneringen, Germany
2015-2019 BurgGalerie&Grafensaal Veringenstadt, Germany
